A day of meditation—with Shaila Catherine.
This day-long program will explore our relationship to feelings—feelings that are pleasant, unpleasant, worldly or spiritual. Many different kinds of feelings arise in our lives. Without mindfulness we might be swept away by habitual reactions of desire, fear, or hatred. However, with the cultivation of mindfulness regarding feelings, we learn to open to whatever is actually happening in our lives and bring clarity, wisdom, and a balanced attention to that encounter.
The program will include sitting and walking meditation, instructions, and opportunities for individual meetings with the teacher. This practice day is appropriate for new and experienced meditators, drop-in participants, and dedicated Walking the Path members.
There will be a pot-luck community meal at 12:30; please bring a food dish to share.
Everyone is welcome. Chairs are provided. The floor is not carpeted, so please bring a mat and cushion if you prefer to sit on the floor.
