Get involved! Give your time, skills, or professional services. Insight Meditation South Bay is supported by the volunteer efforts of its members. Volunteering creates the opportunity to integrate mindfulness into activities, make friends in the IMSB community, share your talents, and contribute to the growth of the dhamma in the west.

For example, do you enjoy organizing projects, hosting discussion groups or socials in your home, working with web technology, cooking for group retreats, designing flyers and brochures, administrative support? Do you own a local business whose services or meeting space you might share?

Social Event Organizer: plans quarterly social gatherings
Program Coordinator: coordinates one or more of the following: Special events, guest series, Saturday programs
Writer/Editor: variety of writing projects/tasks
Graphic Design: designs brochures, post cards, logo etc., skill with In-design or other graphics programs
Data Entry: maintains Events Calendar on WordPress website, & various Excel spreadsheets
Communications Co-coordinator: coordinates publicity and mailing list
Bookkeeping, accounting skills Assist treasurer with various tasks as needed
Fundraising Director: develops and implements strategies for building fund and organizational development
Newsletter Coordinator and Editor: responsibilities include gathering and editing articles and announcements for a quarterly online newsletter

Communications team - Includes publicity, social media, writing and editing.
Facility and Event Management Team - Includes volunteer coordination, room set up, logistical support for events.
Building Development Team - Includes searching for a new facility, fundraising for the building fund, transition strategy, planning and implementation for expansion.
Technology Team - Includes technology strategies that support programs, membership and administration, web presence, sound system and audio library.
Programming Team - Includes program design; and scheduling events, retreats and guest speakers.
Outreach and Aid Team - Promotes generosity and compassionate action through engagement with local and international projects, service, aid, and fundraising.
Finance and Funding Team - Includes managing income and expenditures, and fundraising strategies.
Saratoga Event Management - Includes various roles that support our events at Westhope Church in Saratoga, such as event management, arranging the room each week, coordinating guest teachers, local publicity, refreshments, site improvements.
