Gatherings will be used to build sangha and explore pertinent topics of navigating daily life as a young person in the modern world. \nThis group is usually facilitated by Aishin Leonard\, a passionate Buddhist practitioner\, mindfulness facilitator and consultant in the South Bay. Anthony Maes will be our special guest leader for tonight. \nANTHONY “T” MAES has practiced Theravada Buddhist meditation since 2003\, including long retreats and practicing in a monastery in Thailand. “T” graduated from UC Berkeley in 2004\, then worked in psychology research on mindfulness at UCSF before shifting careers toward teaching and seeing clients one-on-one. Today he is a Dharma teacher at Spirit Rock and East Bay Meditation Center. He also teaches secular mindfulness retreats for teens and young adults at Inward Bound Mindfulness Education\, and a Relational Mindfulness retreat in Panama in the summer. He completed the 3-year Organic Intelligence practitioner training\, which informs his approach to trauma-sensitive mindfulness.
